2. Processing in the browser (validation)

The core function of this website – HTML validation – runs entirely client-side in your browser (JavaScript). The source you type, paste or load from a file never leaves your device. There is no upload to a server and no server-side storage.

3. Hosting and server log files

When you access the website, the hosting provider automatically records information that your browser transmits, in so-called server log files:

amount of data transferred and confirmation of successful retrieval

operating system and referrer URL
(shortened) IP address

This data serves the technical provision, security and stability of the website. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in error-free operation).

4. Analytics with Matomo

For statistical analysis of usage we use the self-hosted open-source software Matomo (server: statistik-online.org). Matomo is configured to be cookieless here (disableCookies) – no cookies are set and no persistent identifier is stored on your device. IP addresses are processed in shortened form.

As no information is accessed on your device beyond what is technically necessary, no consent under § 25 (2) TDDDG is required and no cookie banner is needed. The legal basis for processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a needs-based design and optimisation of the website). You can object to this analytics at any time.

5. SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons this website uses TLS encryption (recognisable by "https" and the padlock symbol in the address bar). Transmitted data therefore cannot be read by third parties.

6. Your rights as a data subject

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:
